The Lemon Twigs - 'A Dream Is All I Know'

Brothers D’addario return with the third single ‘A Dream Is All I Know’ off their upcoming album of (nearly) the same name.

Proving once again that the Long Island natives The Lemon Twigs never disappoint, ‘A Dream Is All I Know’ is a perfectly quirky little number, that helps remind us why we fell in love with music in the first place. Older brother Brian takes the lead vocals on this Wings-esque track, sounding as if Red Rose Speedway’s melodies froze and thawed onto this song. Although The Twigs’ music is reminiscent of their many influences, the brothers always continue to put their own twist on things, and still make their music sound fresh, with this new single being no different. It manages to sound familiar of other great artists that came before, with a great sense of nostalgia - while simultaneously sounding quite like nothing you’ve ever heard before.

The music video is equally charming produced by the band themselves, with dreamlike imagery and exploring the joy of existential dread. Brian has stated that the song is about the impermanence of our day to day lives; having feeling a strong sense of unreality in his kitchen, a title he didn’t think had the same ring to it. Which is a shame, I guess i’ll have to tell my mate that his bands new song ‘Spaced Out In The Bath’ won’t be quite the big hit he had hoped.

Along with their two previously released tracks ‘My Golden Years’ and ‘They Don’t Know How To Fall In Place’, ‘A Dream Is All I Know’ is the perfect pick to highlight the bands victorious versatility, with all three singles sounding like mini episodes of a late night, quirky anthology tv show. The three singles are so varied in sound but still feel tightly linked in a way you can quite put your finger on, another testament to the bands genius.

Along with this new track, The Lemon Twigs have also released their first tour dates of 2024, and with the release of their highly anticipated new album set to come out May 3rd, brothers Brian and Michael look like they gearing up for a spectacular year.
