Dumb - 'Club Nites'

Vancouver’s Dumb blast snotty indie punk in ‘Club Nites’.

‘Club Nites’ is dancey, angular with tasty feedback noises. The track could be deemed an instant classic, as it fits with the New York 70s CBGB sound, 00s garage revival, and is a strong contender for one of the great arty post punk tracks that have been released in the last couple of years.

The edgey and intricate riffing coincides perfectly with the awkwardness and satirical subject matter of social anxieties in ‘da club’. This feeling is enhanced greatly with a middle section of blasting single notes that create a sense of paranoia and anxiety in itself.

There’s a lot of great guitar bands coming out if the UK recently, and it’s good to see that there are more coming from over the pond. If you only check out one Canadian guitar band this year, make sure it’s Dumb.
