Diane Birch - 'Flying On Abraham'
American singer-songwriter Diane Birch makes a big return to the music scene with the announcement of her latest album ‘Flying On Abraham’ - set for release in April. Along with that announcement she shares sonic new single ‘Used To Lovin You’.
With a career spanning over a decade, Birch has woven a diverse tapestry of sounds influenced by her rich, global upbringing and an array of musical genres. From the echoes of '70s AM radio to the soulful vibes of classic rock and R&B, Flying On Abraham is a heartfelt homage to her vast and varied musical roots, produced by the renowned English musician Paul Stacey.
The lead single, "Used to Lovin’ You," tells a story of persistence and revelation. Written during a cold winter in Berlin, it underwent numerous transformations before finding its true essence in a spontaneous, low-fi recording demo in London. This single captures the essence of Birch's journey, echoing a period of intense emotional introspection and a resolute march towards personal empowerment, inspired in part by the literary work "Fear of Flying" by Erica Jong.
Birch's journey from a preacher’s daughter in Zimbabwe to an influential artist in New York has shaped her unique sound, earning her respect and accolades from music legends like Prince, Daryl Hall, and Stevie Wonder. Her previous works, including her debut Bible Belt and the follow-up Speak A Little Louder, have established her as a formidable force in the music industry.
