Band To Check Out: Native People - 'Calm Forever'.

There is often an undeniable correllation between where we are from and how our surroundings inspire and influence us. Hailing from a popular Kent seaside resort town, Folkestone-based four-piece, Native People seem to carry the sounds of warm and lazy seaside summers with them in their Indie/Dance/Alternative rooted sound.

'Calm Forever' is the debut single from Native People, who are comprised of; Reuben Todd (Vocals and Guitar), Connor Tagg (Drums ), Hudd Smith – (Guitar ) and Luke Cowie (Bass). This year saw the single championed by BBC Introducing ("Record of the week”), Amazing Radio (“Discovery of the week”) and Propaganda Club (“Propabuzz”) and we can see why with its chilled out guitar riffs, shimmery feel-good, sunshine synths and cymbals and its dreamy, nostalgic vocals and lyricism.

'Calm Forever' is easy listening indie stemming from a similar vein as the quality of sound we have become accustomed to from the likes of Two Door Cinema Club, Bombay Bicycle Club and even The 1975. However, the track holds enough individuality to stand alone making sure that Native People will not be mistaken for an imitation act. Currently under the trusted guidance of  REBEL REBEL Artist ManagementNative People will be releasing their follow up single 'O N E' later this month, but in the meantime you can catch them live in a town near you on the following dates:

Maidstone - The Flowerpot - 15/11/14
Exeter - The Cavern - 09/12/14
London - The Garage - 17/12/14
