As London swelters under an oppressive mid-week heatwave, Chaos Theory's monthly event 'The Facemelter' aptly coincides with a feeling we can all currently relate to. But alas! Instead of bringing us muzzy, muggy, misery - Chaos Theory are providing welcome heat in the form of three amazing acts who are due to grace The Black Heart stage this Friday evening. Yes that's right - Chaos Theory will be bringing you a very special evening where Shiver will unleash new material, The Fierce And The Dead will let rip with unheard material and Alex's Hand will be making their UK debut. Sounds good right? Just in case you were still unsure, we've kindly compiled a list of all the relevant information you might need to convince you further there is really no other place to be this weekend.
About the Line Up:
"Fierce rock orientated jazz with all sorts of surprise melodies" - LondonJazz

Next up are self-styled 'pronk' act The Fierce And The Dead, featuring prolific guitarist, loop artist and blogger Matt Stevens. Their precise musicianship and schizophrenic, immensely complex, yet catchy music has earned them headline slots all over the UK, as well as supporting the likes of Philm and and Anathema. They will be playing material off their upcoming as-yet-untitled EP.
"Post-hardcore bass tone; pulsing motorik drums; chiming, interlocking guitars somewhere between Afrobeat and Robert Fripp (and) shockingly brutal bursts of math-metal." - Rock-A-Rolla Magazine

Rounding out the list is Alex's Hand, a punk/noise/math-rock/nu-jazz quartet making their UK début. Formed in Seattle a few short years ago, this experimental four-piece relocated to Berlin and have been wreaking havoc on Europe's DIY scene ever since. As at home onstage as they are playing avant-garde installations (such as 24-hour festival Avant Garden) in a punk squat in Berlin, this will be one bizarre evening.
"The complete lack of predictability is what makes Alex’s Hand such a balm for jaded ears." - Expose Online.

About Chaos Theory: Chaos Theory is an independent promotion collective that wants to breathe new life into the underground music scene. They do this by organising events, from small gigs to large-scale concerts, and try to promote artists and musicians of emerging and underground genres. It was founded in 2010 by Kunal Singhal and remained a solo venture initially, but over the years a handful of people have joined and added their talents and efforts to make it a more organised operation. All of the people involved are musicians, artists and music addicts, who put passion before snobbery and wish to make the niche and experimental more accessible to wider audiences.
