Single Review: Kyla La Grange - 'So Sweet'.

Honing an innovative approach to pop,  London's Kyla La Grange returns with new offering 'So Sweet' that is just about as colourful as her current promo photo. Gone is the minimalistic, chilled out, ethereal and perhaps even at times, underhand melancholy, that we become accustomed to  from previous LPs  'Ashes'  (2012)  and  'Cut Your Teeth' (2014) in favour of bubbly, disjointed pop, with a mixture of both modern originality and 80s inspired influence.

On the track itself Kyla explains, "I wrote 'So Sweet' in my kitchen when I was feeling really happy and in love... I started out with this arpeggiated jerky tuba type sound that I really liked but then wanted the choruses to feel a bit more cinematic with the dreamy guitars and harmonies, so there is kind of a weird contrast between the verses and the choruses, but I like it.”

Perhaps this "weird contrast" isn't the type of formula that you'd instantly imagine to be universally liked, but it provides an added layer of intrigue that pulls the listener in. 'So Sweet' is a bold track with it's own signature and a lot to offer;  Kyla likes it, we like it, and we're betting you will too.
