The Director Explains: hd hausmann - 'Old Satellites' (Video).

Who:
hd hausmann is the moniker of a UK collective who make soundscape/noisescape/folk music.

About The Track:
'Old Satellites' is taken from the band's upcoming album
"wring the moisture from the surf" due for release via Marshall Teller Records on 6th November 2015. The track features deep, looming vocals, atmospheric electronics, gentle guitar hooks and carries a sense of urgency in its repetitive piano notes. hd hausmann make the track feel spacious and lonely, whilst simultaneously filling that space with soaring layers of transcendental, comforting sound.

The Director Explains: “Upon listening to and reading the lyrics for ‘Old Satellites’, I was struck by the idea of a person trying to grasp back control and I decided I wanted to represent this with the idea of loneliness in contrast to solitude. These days we rarely get a chance to be alone and appreciate the benefits of solitude. We are inundated by information, technology and people, feeling lost when we don’t have access to the world through our phones or social media. Our everyday lives can be overwhelming, seeking out solitude could be a path to understanding ourselves and others."
