The Lexington on Pentonville Road is known for a few things, one being it's beer selection and the other being it's jukebox. It is also known for it's live music shows in it's upstairs music room. Last time I was here was to see The Slums support Hoodlums, but this time round it is for a sold out Dilly Dally show, a Canadian band that everyone is talking about.

The room is tense for Dilly Dally to come on stage, you can just feel it that everyone in this room loves these guys. The band casually walk on stage to set up and once finally ready there is a brief pause, before they roar into “Snake Head”. With their set filled with tracks from their album 'Sore', songs like 'Desire' and the full blown dancer that is 'Ballin Chain'. Katie Monks gives limited crowd interaction between songs however she mouths the words “Thank You” to the crowd, which shows us it's not needed. As it's a mutual appreciation, the crowd loves Dilly Dally and Dilly Dally loves them.
The band thrash out an angry grunge fuelled set and after completion the crowd call for an encore, Katie crawls back on stage having thrown everything into that performance, showing us that despite their aggressive sound there is something playful and innocent about Dilly Dally, which is what I think makes them so charming.
