Single Review: Will Joseph Cook - 'Girls Like Me'.

As a blog, we were first introduced to Will Joseph Cook off the back of 'Hearse', the lead single and third track to be taken from Cook's second EP,  'Proof Enough'. Yes, we were unfashionably late to the WJC party, and even though when we did get there, the atmosphere was slightly eerie and a bit down right weird, (have you heard 'Hearse'?) - we knew immediately this was the place to be and that we would definitely be coming back for more.

'Girls Like Me' is exactly the type of 'more' we were after and hits you from a considerably cheerier place than 'Hearse'. The track is toe tapping, sophisticated, indie pop, which leans towards a much more conventional set up, featuring extremely catchy hooks that make for very easy listening.

Cook may have reigned the 'peculiar' in a tad on this track, but with the addition of cosmic, warm, electronics and his unique warbling vocals, there's no doubt about it; this is a versatile artist who never fails to deliver something people want to hear, even if what's on offer may not have been what you initially expected.
