Single Review: Glass Mansions - 'Matches'
South Carolina based quartet Glass Mansions have seen a few significant changes of late. Operating under a new band name and with changes to their line up, 'Matches' is the first track the band have released since their new beginning and they're sounding thicker and fuller than ever.
Drab synths set a gloomy tone to the start of the track, before assailing guitar riffs and drum rhythms pick up the pace for lead singer Jayna Doyle's charismatic and confrontational vocals to spark the mood of the piece alight.
Glass Mansions are back. They've upped their game, kept the pop sensibilities that made them so likeable in the first place, are still setting synths off like rocket ships - but, they've embraced their darker, angrier, rockier side and we're really interested to see where they're going with this.
'Matches' is out now and taken from the band's upcoming self titled EP.
