Single: Jazz Morley - 'Bad Love'
Jazz Morley's 'Bad Love' opens as a sentimental confession where her soulful vocals are met with reverence from shy piano chords and sparse, tender synths - seemingly echoing the lover's union the narrator is tentatively longing for. As the lyrics builds with uncertainty, so do the layers of production where the track tip-toes away from its ballad-esque qualities and builds into a seductive, soul-ladden, electro-pop chorus.
With Draper on production, 'Bad Love' closes with skittering synths which reminded me of the chattering response from the lover the song's theme is addressing. This is mood music for the conflicted, the love lorn, the tentative and Jazz Morley's vocals radiate in waves of textured truthfulness.
