The Artist Explains: Lilla Clara - 'White Sky' (Video)

Who: Lilla Clara is the project of Clara Schicketanz,a musician based in Berlin.

About The Track: 'White Sky' is a collaborative effort between Lilla Clara and Hania Rani (Hanna Raniszewska).

This is contemporary classical music that flourishes beyond its sombre, touching vocals, slowly ascending in beautiful instrumental splendour,  where the arrangements are often as sadly contemplative as the songs narrative.

The Artist Explains:
Where was the video filmed?
The video was filmed in Poland, Misdory. I live in Berlin so it’s not that far and the beaches are beautiful and empty. It was a cold and stormy day, perfect for the atmosphere. It is also a great combination because I had the honour to write the song with Hanna Raniszewska, who is from Poland and amazing pianist and composer.

How does the video compliment the song?
It’s just about transporting a certain feeling and sensitivity and to support the music without taking to much attention away from it. The water has the power to wash everything away and still holds so much future in it.

Any behind the scenes stories?
Actually it was so stormy, that I lost the white shirt I am wearing in the video. It got washed away after I took it off to go into the cold water. Really sad, but I hope, it was worth it!

Tell us about the ideas/ themes/ imagery used?
The song is called  'White Sky“ because i got so inspired by the swedish sky. There is always a white line between the horizon and the sky, so beautiful. And it’s inspired by a very special person who made me realize that.

What is the message the video is trying to convey?
It is a reflection of feelings. The feeling you have when you have to let go of someone you just started to let into your life. Things are moving so fast these days, I guess too fast for me sometimes.
