The Artist Explains: BANFF x Caitlin Park - 'My Love, My Lover' (Official Video)
Brisbane singer-songwriter BANFF (aka Benjamin Forbes) and Sydney subtronica artist Caitlin Park teamed up to release their debut collaborative single, 'My Love, My Lover’ and we speak to BANFF about the ideas behind the accompanying music video.

Where was the video filmed?
We shot the clip in quite an odd, but charming, suburb of Sydney called Campsie. It was the first time I had ever heard of the place, but there was a really unique vibe to Campsie that I thought suited the melancholy of the song.
How does the video compliment the song?
Well I think the video does a really nice job of defining that passion and then conflict ina relationship. That head over heels, and then somewhat confused, state in partnership before coming to the realization that it is all OK. You just need time to sit back and take in a new perspective.
Any behind the scenes stories?
It was a super quick shoot to be honest. I took a flight from Brisbane to Sydney the morning of the shoot, caught a taxi to Campsie and Caitlin and I probably spent no more than 20 minutes on camera doing our little part. For the remainder of the shoot, we ate delicious cheese which our magnificent producer Stef Smith so kindly provided.
Tell us about the ideas/ themes/ imagery used?
Our producer/director extraordinaire Stef Smith took charge here. When we spoke over the video treatment, we wanted the general video theme to match the tender melancholy of the song, and really open up the story with moody and lofi imagery.
What is the message the video is trying to convey?
The song tells the story of a disrupted relationship that explores the dialogue between this confused, apathetic young male and his compassionate, but at times over-committed, girlfriend. We worked to bring that message to life through the video, revealing a sense of hopelessness in love before un-denying reflection of unity and strength.
