The Band Explains: The Night Café -'Together' (Video)
Liverpudlian teens The Night Café talk to us about their breezy visuals accompanying shimmering guitar pop single, ‘Together’ - a warm song and video about friendship and nostalgia.
The Band Explains:
Where was the video filmed?
The video was filmed in and around Childwall Woods in Liverpool. It's directly in the middle of all of our houses, so we spent a considerable amount of time there when we were growing up.
How does the video compliment the song?
The main theme of the song is friendship, so all the locations used are places that we visit frequently with our friends past and present.
Any behind the scenes stories?
The tape glitch that ends the video actually came from Rob (our producer who filmed the video) slipping on mud whilst on top of a wall. He landed on his arse.
Tell us about the ideas/ themes/ imagery used?
We filmed the video on a Hi8 camera that belonged to Arrans family. the look of the footage is something that reminded him of old family videos. So the overall idea was to provide a late 90s/early 2000s nostalgic feel that matches with our upringing and also aligns with the disposable camera images that we display on our social media
What is the message the video is trying to convey?
We wanted this video to show that we don't take ourselves too seriously. Basically it pairs us messing about in the woods, with a thought out visual concept that compliments the song. We're happy with the way it came out!
We'd like thank Robert Whiteley for taking the time to film this video x
