Napoleon - Live @ o2 Academy Islington, London w/ Create To Inspire 04/08/2016
Basick Records' very own Napoleon and Create To Inspire teamed up to bring their hard-hitting melodic hardcore to venues across the UK and Ant Adams caught them on their London leg of the tour at o2 Academy Islington.
Recently I had been feeling a bit disheartened by what the hardcore scene has to offer. Don't get me wrong, I love the music, but I had been feeling that largely the scene was lacking something that previously gravitated me towards it in the past. That was until a line up like this came along that got me excited all over again.
Opening band When Our Time Comes certainly fight their corner, trying to get a half empty room pumped and despite some technical issues the band succeed in connecting with the crowd so I hope they converted some new fans.
This is the second time I had seen Create To Inspire, and it's only a matter of time before they explode. They are such a hard working, genuine bad and their music is so raw. After their performance, the venue was certainly in full swing anticipating Napoleon's set.
It's great to see how far Hardcore troopers Napoleon have come and their dedication paying off as they kept luring the crowd in and pulling them back with a summoning effect during their intense set where lead vocalist Wes Thompson's roars fully took command of the audience.
With bands like Napoleon and Create to Inspire making huge splashes right now, any doubts about the UK hardcore scene can be cast aside.
