Listen: Mt. Wolf - 'Golden' (feat. St. South) (Single)

London’s Mt.Wolf shares stand out single 'Golden', featuring the intimate vocals of hotly-tipped Australian vocalist St. South.

Of all the skills Mt. Wolf possess, the one I love best about them is the way in which they subtly yet expertly craft soundscapes with a gentleness that is profusely intimate and evocative. Over the years, Mt. Wolf have acted as a catharsis, have bewitched with ethereal beauty, have calmed with atmospheric lulls, have shined light and hope through melancholy and have fully won me over.

'Golden' is the latest deeply atmospheric and poignant offering from the three piece that sees them team up with St. South whose lovely timbre shares the vocals with Mt. Wolf's frontman  making the song a  heartfelt conversation between one person expressing their anxiety, and the other apologising for their part in causing it, and their inability to diminish it.

I adore the way that Mt. Wolf fuse acoustic and electronic elements together in such a natural way, evoking stillness  and sentiment from its listener. The addition of St. South is a welcome ripple of optimism on a deep and crystalline lake of sound. If ever there was an embodiment of still waters running deep, it is Mt. Wolf and their music.
