The Band Explains: Youth Club - 'Sorry' (Video)

Southend indie pop four-piece Youth Club talk to us about the visuals for their latest single, 'Sorry' that packs a literal punch!
'Sorry' is the band's follow up single to their 2015 'Brothers' EP and is an infectious, tropical pop track displaying Youth Club's forward-thinking, soulful own brand of popular indie, rnb and electronic music that we have come to expect from them. A sound they will once again be bringing to venues across the UK during their upcoming headline tour, dates available at the bottom of the page.

Youth Club Explains:
Where was the video filmed?
The video was filmed at a photography studio next door to our studio in Southend.

How does the video compliment the song?
Through the use of clean cut, simple, striking, smooth shots, against a modern, white, clean canvas. This compliments the "less is more" vibe we have in regards to song writing and production in the song and creates a very visually engaging dynamic on the aerial close ups of Gerarrd singing.

The idea of guys being useless in relationships was a fun way to interpret the song and gives it a sense of meaning but also comedy.

Any behind the scenes stories?
This video was quite tame actually we started early that day and everyone was quite chilled. Shooting with fake blood and having pepsi thrown over your face in a completely white room was interesting when it came to cleaning up though.

Tell us about the ideas/ themes/ imagery used?
The idea behind the video was to show how everyone can be useless and let people down at times, especially in relationships. The word sorry can really get over used and in the case of the video it was a chance to show this with ex girlfriends who have had enough and and expressed their frustration.

What is the message the video is trying to convey?
Stop saying sorry and be better at life in general otherwise you may end up with a shiner!
