INME - live @ The Fleece, Bristol 24/10/2016

In celebration of their 20th anniversary this year, October saw Essex rock quartet InMe head out on a special headline tour joined by their friends Aaron Buchanan & The Cult Classics and EMPIRE and Anthony Hunt Photography caught them live at The Fleece, Bristol.

If you live in the south west and love going to gigs, chances are you’ve passed through the doors of The Fleece in Bristol. Although the iconic venue can only hold a small crowd in comparison to other venues around the city, this hasn’t stopped some amazing artist hitting the stage. Amy Winehouse, Muse and the The White Stripes, are just a select few from and ever growing list, and tonight Essex alt-metallers INME take along EMPIRE and Aaron Buchanan & The Cult Classics on their 20th anniversary tour.

EMPIRE kick the show off to a quarter full crowd which for a Monday night is impressive. Joe Green’s vocals are on point along with the bands instrumentals proving that live music can sound just as good if not better than CD. Playing a handful of track from their latest release, 'Our Simple Truths' with 'Sweet Apollo' being definite crowd pleaser which gets people moving, singing and forgetting its only just the start of the week. Having what will hopefully be a bright future we are excited to see what’s next for these boys.

The Fleece close to capacity Aaron Buchanan & The Cult Classics have some big shoes to fill. Armed with moves that resemble the likes of Jagger and (Scott) Weiland and one hell of a power voice, front man Aaron makes it look simple. Despite having some technical difficulties which seem to go unnoticed by the crowd AB&TCC pump out classic sounding rock including their new single “All The Things I’ve Said And Done”. Being a true gentleman of rock Buchanan even takes time out to introduce the rest of The Cult Classics and after a strong finish the crowd are left wanting more. Be sure to keep an eye out for the album “The Man With Stars On His Knees” set for release 2017.

InMe take the stage to the deafening sound of applause, cheers and screams. Opening up with Myths & Photographs, fans are soon riding the nostalgia wave that the band ooze from the speakers. The audience give as good as they get singing back the mix of old and new tracks word for word and lap up Dave’s (McPhersons) banter between tracks. Closing with the ultimate belter that is “Faster The Chase” clearly sends avid followers back 12 years to 2004, and also proves that INME have a lot more to give with the upcoming 2nd part of their trilogy releases.

Fans pour in to the street leaving one of Bristol’s oldest venues hot, sweaty as well as happy, which is a rarity for a rainy Monday night in October, as Fleece closes its doors on yet another successful gig.
