Introducing: Chenti - 'A List Of Lies' (Single)
Sussex indietronica outfit Chenti shares contemplative sunshinie single, 'A List Of Lies'.
Through atmospheric electronics and catchy indie hooks Chenti bring a welcome blend of shimmering indie and electronic music and while there are a lot of attempted carbon copies of Two Door Cinema Club, Foals and Bombay Bicycle Club out there, this is a track that appeals to fans of such bands but doesn't mimic them in the slightest.
With it's own distinctive qualities, 'A List Of Lies' is equally as dreamy as it is grounded and one of the wonderful things that sets Chenti apart from the genre contemporaries listed above is that the vocals are shared between lovely male and female harmonies, providing a really lovely and pure twee pop feel which is an absolute delight on the ears.
On the track the band explains: "'A List of Lies' is about the confliction of growing up - trying to be grateful for what's going well in life, whilst still feeling anxious about the future and your desire to move forward. There's also a focus on mixed feelings within relationships and whether a particular relationship is a help or hindrance to what you want to achieve in life."
'A List Of Lies' is taken from the band's debut self-titled EP, a really lovely 4 -track effort that has that well needed warmth and magic to it which is the perfect antidote to distract from any unfestive feelings and keep any winter chills held at bay. I'm really excited to see what Chenti have in store for 2017.
