Band of the Week #001 : SKIES
Folkestone two piece SKIES premiered their newest single 'Afterwards' on the eve of their massive UK tour.
2016 was a super busy year for the band, with their EP 'If You Feel Like This' saw them supporting the likes of Get Inuit, Clean Cut Kid and topping it off with a jammed packed headline show at Camden Assembly. With tracks like 'Drone' and 'Hold On' in their pockets, the band are showing no signs of slowing down with the second EP being geared up for release, with current single 'Afterwards' giving us a sneak peak of what is to come.
The track shows a dramatic increase in maturity when it comes to their sound and song writing skills, while holding onto that SKIES glitter that we have all come to love. The song powerfully industrial as it grows and grows all the way up to the when the chorus breaks.
Alie Cotter (Vocals/guitar) states “It’s a song all about regret, something that I think we can all carry at some point in our lives.”
Having been a fan of these guys for a while, it is great to see them hitting the road so much over the next few months. Including a huge home town shows at Folkestone's Quarterhouse on the 5th May!
