Live Review - Sløtface @ Green Door Store - Brighton, 18/02/2017
Hotly tipped Norwegian 4 piece Sløtface headlined Brighton's Green Door Store for the final leg of their UK tour.
Support came from local band Mindofalion, who did everything an opening act is meant to do. They brought in a crowd, ramming the room from side to side, they then got that crowd on their feet dancing in a sweaty mess and finally played a super tight set from start to finish. If you get a chance to see Mindofalion I highly recommend it! On a side note, their bass player is the most amazingly energetic musician I have ever seen so wear protective clothing if you plan on standing in the front row! Their new single 'Machina' is out now.
Then came a young, slightly shy looking Sløtface, with the band setting up quickly and quietly. But if you were to think this was a sign of things to come... You would be VERY wrong!
Boy can these guys write a tune. The whole room had their hands in the air from the get go with recent single 'Take Me Dancing' kicking off proceedings. What came next was a set full of skippy guitar riffs, jumping bass lines and out and out pop punk hits. You'll be hearing a lot more from Sløtface as the year goes on and I wouldn't be surprised if they become a household name very quickly.
