Native Language - 'Fit To Be Tied' (Single)

Chicago indie rock outfit Native Language shares new folk and alternative rock single 'Fit To Be Tied' taken from their 4-song EP, 'From Memory'.

'Fit To Be Tied' opens with a relaxed, ambient indie folk intro before subtly switching directions and kicking up the tempo a notch, channelling the best of noughties alternative rock and indie rock influences.

Featuring a full, textured soundscape,  'Fit To Be Tied' doesn't overwhelm or sound weighed down. Atmospheric guitar notes and a persistent drum rhythm compliment each other with grace and ease, frequently stepping aside for one another to take the lead. Male and female vocal harmonies blend with an almost hushed beauty on the verses, begging you to stretch your ear further to follow the engaging lyricism,  breaking up the breezy singalong chorus nicely.

Native Language constantly play with dynamics, integrating different genre styles with ease. Despite being clearly  thought-out  there is no rigidity here. 'Fit To Be Tied' retains mainstream likeability, yet throws in a couple of dreamy alternative instrumentals, keeping its integrity and individuality whilst simultaneously allowing their listener to take some time out from the contemplative narrative and just dance!
