Heir - 'Be Somebody' (Single)
UK Alt-Pop band Heir release surprise single 'Be Somebody' to coincide with a run of UK and European 'I'll Pick You Up' tour dates.
Last month, Heir released 'I'll Pick You Up' a warm synth pop track channelling 80s nostalgia, combined with a really cool alternative funk sound that definitely hits the spot. The band have also kindly released a surprise track, 'Be Somebody' that showcases a less dreamy sound and an increasingly more thought-provoking, punchy lyrical theme.
'Be Somebody' is rhythmically quite a disjointed, which makes it all the more enjoyable. The broken percussive rhythm, scrappy guitar work and understated synth really highlights the brooding, self-reflective side of the band as they take on the conversational, poignant chorus, "Would you burn out, just to be somebody? Shoot yourself down, just to be somebody?".
Heir are currently mid-way through their March/April tour dates having just finished their UK dates and headed overseas into mainland Europe, it is looking very promising that Heir may be a name on significantly more fan's lips before the year is out.
