ZOLA BLOOD - 'Nothing' (Single)
London four-piece ZOLA BLOOD shares new single, 'Nothing' and announces details of their debut album, 'INFINITE GAMES', which will be released by Pond Life on May 26th 2017.
Ahead of the album release their newest single, 'Nothing' contains verses riddled with subtle hi hat grooves and haunting revolving synth bass lines that wouldn't sit too distantly from a 90's record from Nine Inch Nails. Eerie while enchanting, story telling lyrics perch on a landscape of well-crafted and colourful synth patterns.
Their upcoming debut album was recorded over the course of a year, mainly in the band’s notably windowless Hackney Wick studio – apart from ‘Play Out’, which was recorded in Leeds by Richard Formby (Wild Beasts, Darkstar). The album features ten tracks, and was produced by the band with help from Oli Bayston (Boxed In) and Duncan Toothill (Little Cub).
The quartet describe the album as “more sophisticated” than their previous releases: “We’ve got to know our instruments better and spent a long time going weird with new synths and effects to get make more interesting sounds. We also wanted to bring out some more of the techno influences we all love, and push a bit more towards the dance floor.
