Live Review: Loathe - Nambucca, London 28/06/2017
As a part of Rock Solid Promotions’ “Aggressive LND” at Nambucca on Holloway Road, we headed down to see Loathe and their supports do what they do best.
The evening certainly lives up to its name. The aggression let out by the bands and audience alike is sheer madness to behold. A total of seven bands fit on this bill. Yes, seven. Starve To Survive, Chaos Reigns, Sworn To Secrecy, The Dreamer Within, Serenity Came Calling, Lotus Eater and Loathe all add their own unique flavour to an otherwise dreary day in North London. Spinning kicks, cartwheels, guitarists rolling around on the floor - this show has it all. Dirty riffs emanating from every amp in this venue are received by a truly energised crowd, a real testament to the UK hardcore scene today.
Tonight's headliners, Loathe, are who 99% of the people in the room have come to see. Riding high off the release of their debut album The Cold Sun, their set is packed with tracks that have their audience screaming every word back. Kadeem’s screams, complimented by Erik’s cleans are a great mix. Whilst the crowd they drew wasn’t the largest I’ve seen, it was surely one of the rowdiest.
