Single Review: Shanghai Blues - 'Those Three Words'
Lead into a soft lullaby of faint guitar-melodies and an easeful vocal, Shanghai Blues have merged their song writing efforts in a tense journey that later thrills to monumental crescendo of blazing guitars and powerful rock moments. It’s an all-out tension release, that hints to moments from their past single releases.
Poignant lyrics cooperate and a moment that clings to me at every listen is the spectacular reverb leaving the prominent words “I dreamed of me and you” into an abyss of nothingness.
With Abbie McCarthy (BBC Introducing Kent, Radio 1) as a fan and Spotify crowning the band on a few impressive playlists, it’s no wonder the band are stepping out to a band worth keeping eyes and ears out. You can catch them live at The Old Blue Last on Wednesday 9th August.
