Live Review: INHEAVAN - Scala, London 17/10/2017

Playing their first ever headline show at Boston Music Room in London only last year, INHEAVEN now take on the almighty Scala. In a haze of distorted guitars, the gig was much like a homecoming show for the South London band.

Opening band Bloxx brought fun, indie vibes whilst King Nun blew up the venue with their loud, heavy instrumental sound. With the scene set with red roses and a jam-packed room, the atmosphere was perfect for INHEAVEN’s performance of all things showcase, punk, and dream-pop.

With a high sense of raw talent, the band start with standout track ‘Bitter Town’ as vocalist James Taylor serenades the crowd with his croons. Tracks ‘Baby’s Alright’ and ‘World On Fire’ are classic crowd favourites, both being riotous dance-floor fillers. “Pray, pray, pray, pray / Praying for the end of the world” yell the crowd in delight.



Sky-high vocals alongside gnarling guitars captures a stunning contrast with mesmerising ‘Drift’ as we hear bassist Chloe Little’s voice float. Wearing a flared striped suit and radiating confidence with a beaming smile, she also takes the lead on rocker ‘Treats’.

Set-closer ‘Regeneration’ yet again sparked passion amongst the crowd, resulting another chaotic, room-shaking mosh-pit. No doubt the group will be blasting back to London next year playing a bigger venue to fill their ever growing fanbase.
