Band of the Week #0024: Yonaka

This weeks Band of the Week is Brighton favorites of ours, Yonaka, who this week announced their biggest show to date, a headline show at London's the Garage this February. To coincide with the announcement, the four-piece have also unveiled their official video for “Bubblegum” taken from their recent Heavy EP. 

Yonaka have been destroying the music scene this year, playing endless festivals, and supporting the likes of the Libertines, plus a beast of a headline tour this fall. It feels like it was all building up to this point, this announcement, like it was always their aim to go big. Build it up, and go boom! We are not surprised though, their unique blend of bluesy sexiness has been taking no prisoners this year, with their audience forever growing. The video is exactly what you would expect from the band too, it just screams Yonaka. It shows the intensity of their live performances, where they can make playing to full venue feel like an intimate house show, while also showcasing Theresa Jarvis' abilities as a powerful front woman.
