Live Review: Dinosaur Pile-Up - The Garage, London 03/11/2017

It was one of the first chilly winter evenings of the year and what better thing to do than get a bit hot and rowdy with Dinosaur Pile-Up!!!

After mishap with those pesky London trains we arrived at an already packed Garage, unfortunately because of the transport issues we didn’t get to witness Fizzy Blood’s great set, but the few people we spoke to said it was a cracker of a performance!! We will get you next time guys.

Second on the bill tonight were alt-rockers Demob Happy, bringing sultry guitar and heavy banging drums from start to finish of their set, there was hardly a moment to catch your breath! Our highlights would most likely be Demob’s newest single ‘Be Your Man’ which got the crowd dancing to their hearts content; of course the finale rendition of ‘Succubus’ awoke a new fire in the audience and there was moshpits galore throughout The Garage! We can’t wait to hear some more new music from these incredible party starters!!

Time seemed to fly by and before we knew it the moment had arrived when Dinosaur Pile-Up took to the stage! Soaring into ‘Birds & Planes’ we were all transported back to the moment we first heard DPU on the scene and it still sounds just as good now if not better! Dinosaur Pile-Up's set consisted of equal helpings from all three albums, from ‘Traynor’ & ‘Mona Lisa’ from Growing Pains to ‘Anxiety Trip’ from Eleven Eleven which had a pretty huge wall of death that we seemed to end up in (not for the faint of heart)! A small technical difficulty with Matt’s mic saw the band leave the stage for a while, that set the crowd off into chant of “DPU, DPU, DPU” before the band triumphantly returned for their final three songs. Tonight’s show ended in the best and only way a Dinosaur Pile-Up show can end now, with a gigantic sing-a-long of fan favourite ’11:11’ that blew the roof off The Garage; It was a flurry of fists, dancing and smiling faces from the front to the back!

Matt said during their set that they always love playing London because of the energy the city brings; we can 100% see what he means by that now! Dinosaur Pile-Up put on the show of a lifetime and the sooner they go on tour the better!!!
