Live Review: The Amity Affliction - Kerrang Tour - Cardiff Uni Y Plas, 12/12/2017

With the news that Vukovi had to pull out of the show due to getting stuck over in Ireland with the bad snow, the lineup now consisted of headliners The Amity Affliction, Boston Manor and Casey, who kicked off the night in Cardiff.

The hard-core 5-piece hailing locally from South Wales came onto stage ushered with cheers and whistles from the crowd and delivered punchy riffs throughout, lead singer Tom Weaver took some timeout in the middle of Casey’s set to thank all friends and family for the support, especially family as a few of them were at the show tonight. Once the thankyous were done, they pushed their way into their biggest track Teeth and then finished with Little Bird off their 2016 album Love Is Not Enough.



With Vukovi having to pull out Boston Manor moved into second slot and sauntered on stage as cool as you like, to football esque Boston Manor chants. The Blackpool band kicked their heavy pounding set off with new single Drowned in Gold which got the Y Plas crowd singing. Vocalist Henry Cox urged the crowd to “get the fuck on your feet” for the storming track that was Lead Feet, this energy kept the momentum and went even further in final song Laika where crowd surfers flung themselves to the front and Henry joined the crowd on the barrier. Overall a set that was heavy hitting and showing Boston Manor are destined for big things.



It was finally time for the Kerrang Tour headliners, The Amity Affliction to grace the stage, risers and lights set they bounded on to a roomful of screams and whistles starting their set off with I Bring The Weather, but for a band from Australia they definitely didn’t as it was raining all evening, less about the weather and more about The Amity Affliction, with more crowd surfers than my hands could count they piled their way through their incredible live set and then slowed it down with All Fucked Up – Acoustically. Once the acoustic guitar was away the riffs from lead guitarist Dan Brown were back in full flow and finishing The Amity Afflictions very mighty set on This Could Be Heartbreak.
