The Video Explained: Banfi - 'Caroline'
Banfi infuse melancholy and grief with a warm yet wintry feel in nostalgic single, 'Caroline'- a heartfelt and haunting song led by sincere vocals and beautiful, chiming soft rock, ballad-esque arrangements. The song is accompanied by sentimental visuals directed by the band's close friend Jake Dypka and made entirely of heartwarming found footage, set in and around Blackpool, reflecting life in the 60s and nicely juxtaposing the sadness in the song.
On the visuals and single, Joe Banfi explains, "The demo of the song only started to make sense and come together when I realised I was writing the lyrics for my parents and their loss, and other people out there who lose their parents at such a crucial age. We had the idea of finding forgotten footage and bringing it back to life. We found this old documentary of a summers day down at Blackpool. It seemed to fit perfectly with underlying themes of family, love and time."The London three-piece will embark on their second European and UK headline tour in March with a headline show at London’s Oslo on 22nd March.
