Festival News: Liverpool Sound City

With Liverpool Sound City being one of the first festivals of the year, this week we’ve been treated to another headliner and nearly 100 more names added to the line-up. Taking place in Liverpool’s up and coming Baltic Triangle on May 5th and 6th Bank Holiday Weekend, the 11th edition of the festival is set to be one not to miss. The Baltic Triangle and Cains Brewery area is located within walking distance of Liverpool city centre.

On a day to day basis it’s made up of art spaces, galleries, bars and recently even a Peaky Blinders themed bar. During the Sound City weekend the Baltic Triangle will be turned into a metropolitan festival with over 20,000 festival goers attending. It’s the ideal location for a multi venue festival like Sound City, as each venue is located within a short walk from the next. This is where Sound City sits above similar day festivals, as it’s not spread too far across a city, meaning you can get from one band to the next without the need to run!

Birmingham indie band Peace were announced as the first headliner for Sunday 6th May back in 2017, and now DMAs will join them as headliners on the Saturday. DMAs are a three-piece Australian indie rock band, they released their debut album Hills End in 2016. Last year during festival season they played extensively in the UK, playing a mostly sold-out UK tour amongst their festival appearances, this later helped them secure a support slot with The Kooks. Their live performance is raw and gritty, with their debut appearance at Sound City, they are sure to sit perfectly in the headliner slot. Other stand out and not to be missed bands within the line-up include Black Honey, Jaws, The Orielles, Idles, Indoor Pets and Marsicans.

Final release weekend tickets are on sale now for £55, they can be purchased here...
