Band of the Week #0032 - Marsicans

Marsicans have had a rollercoaster of a 2017, touring with JAWS, Clean Cut Kid as well as Hippo Campus, with their ‘Absence EP’ hitting over one million listens on Spotify. Previous singles from this incredibly talented band have been far more energetic and hyperactive, however this new single shows a beautifully raw side that has not been seen before.
Lead Vocalist James Newbigging tells us that, “I wrote the song for my niece before she was born. My brother mentioned she might be called Freya so, after I wrote the song, they kind of had to name her that!”. This decrease in pace adds another aspect to this already well refined quartet, showing that they can harness all aspects of Indie-Pop. Last week the band recorded a session for Radio 1 at the Maida Vale studios which was rather spectacular and definitely worth a look.
Marsicans are due to head out onto their headline tour in March this year and we would definitely advise you to head on down for what will be one incredible night.
