Band of the Week #0033 - Milestones

This week's Band of the Week is Fearless Records boys Milestones, who released their debut album 'Red Lights' this week, and announced a headline UK tour.

We had a chat with the boys about their album -

What are the ideas and themes behind the album?
We really just set out to explore the different themes of heartbreak, success & failure within the songs. I think feeling hurt is one of the most important parts of self growth and dealing with hardships in a positive way. Sometimes you have to overcome that hurdle of feeling low in order to become the best version of yourself.

How would you describe it to someone who has never listened to you before?
There's definitely a throwback feel with this record, a lot of people have made comparisons to bands from 10 years ago when talking about our sound Mayday Parade, You Me At Six etc... It's quite varied too, there is a track for everyone.

Where was it recorded? Any behind the scenes studio stories?
Steel City Studios in Sheffield, the studio was brand new and was in the process of being built whilst we were recording there, we were working on a really tight schedule as we only had 19 days to get absolutley everything tracked and finished so there was a lot of long working days. We did go to a party sponsored by Lambrini and were given a few crates for ourselves, so I spent a good 90% of tracking that album incredibly drunk.

What are your plans for the rest of the year?
We've just announced some headline shows in March which I'm really excited for as these will be the first shows where we play the majority of Red Lights in our set, also we're playing Teddy Rocks Festival for the first time this year, we're all stoked to be part of such a great cause.

Milestones album 'Red Lights' is out now via Fearless Records and will be heading out on tour around the UK this March.
