Single Review: Husky Loops - 'When I Come Home'

London-based trio, Husky Loops, are back with their new fierce but mellow single ‘When I Come Home’.

For this track, that follows their second EP last year, the band were inspired by contemporary RnB and hiphop, which can be heard in the instrumentals of the song. The lyrics follow inspirations from the likes of Italian songwriters of the 70s and tracks produced by Tommaso Colliva, who has worked with Muse and Franz Ferdinand.

Danio, from the band, says that the song is about relationships. Although “the lyrics can be seen as quite generic”, “they are intended to talk to everyone and they don’t refer to anyone specific”. The lyrics centre around how “there are many things we don’t say to partners, relatives or friends we truly love” and this can ring true for a lot of the listeners of this track.

The band are adamant that they will not stop changing and experimenting with their sound and we are looking forward to what they release to the world next.

Husky Loops will be touring in February 2018 with a headline show in London’s The Lexington on the 20th.
