The Artist Explains: Tessa Dixson - 'Beautiful Pain'
Belgium based artist Tessa Dixson speaks to us about her artistic and aesthetically pleasing visuals for her new single, 'Beautiful Pain', out now via [PIAS].
Smouldering with a subtle cinematic appeal, ‘Beautiful Pain’ is a moody, alternative pop song full of sincerity and soul.
Tessa Dixson Explains:
”’Beautiful Pain’ was filmed in a studio in Brussels and was a real collaboration between myself, a photographer (Julia Dubois Rosca) and a videographer (Rutger Claes). It was a true challenge for me to undertake this video because I had thought of this project for a while but having the idea in your head and having to make it in real life is very challenging, I was lucky to work with a great team that understood my ideas from the start and who were able to help me accomplish exactly what i had in mind.
The video speaks for itself in a way, it is its own piece of art but it manages to make the song complete, it's up to the viewers to make their own links between the song and the video, I will not ruin the mystical aspect of it all. The idea for the video was simple, I wanted something very aesthetic and beautiful where the viewers would be absorbed in this whirlwind of emotions and where they can make out the video to be anything, they decide of the message or the purpose and i just hope they come out of it feeling some kind of way.”
