Metal heads and heavy rockers are in for a treat next year as Download Festival has announced their first acts for 2019.

Those familiar with Download Festival know that it is has built its foundations on celebrating bands that are into the darker side of music. Last year saw veterans Guns n Roses and Ozzy Osbourne as headliners, with Bullet For My Valentine, Marilyn Manson, Parkway Drive and Alexisonfire being littered throughout the weekend.

For 2019, Download have announced their headliners as Tool, Slipknot and Def Leppard who will be performing their bestselling album ‘Hysteria’ in full. Alongside the trio of headliners, there have been 16 other acts announced including Slash feat Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, Skindred, Rob Zombie and Underoath.

Just like other years it seems that Download Festival are keeping their line up true to their rock n roll roots and are giving fans a mixed bag of new and old acts to enjoy.

Tickets go on general sale on Thursday 25th October.
