Inspired #0015 - Veronica Fusaro
Veronica Fusaro deals with toxic relationships on her latest single ‘Venom’, she talks to us about her biggest inspirations as an artist.
Who are your top three musical inspirations and why?
Amy Winehouse is one of my favorite artists and biggest inspirations. I love how she was able to turn the most ordinary situation into a masterpiece, her lyrics are so good. She was truly unique and I believed every single word she was saying.
I am a big fan of Frank Oceans work. The sounds and the words that he uses paint beautiful sceneries. It makes me feel like I’m driving down the west coast, with the windows down and the wind in my hair.
My dad is a huge fan of the Italian artist Vasco Rossi, so I grew up listening to his music. It was the music that I screamed along to, and I still know most part of his lyrics. He recently celebrated his 40 years of career by selling out a 220’000 people show, which is quite incredible. Also, he gathers a wide range of generations to his concerts. Even thought he had some ups and downs in his career, he still made it through, and I find that very inspiring
Is there a certain film that inspires you and why?
I recently saw Kill Bill for the first time, and even thought I’m not that much into fighting scenes I really like this movie. I love the colors, the mood that is created and the extremes that are being played with. It has a very intriguing feel to me, which I find very fascinating
What city do you find the most inspiring and why?
Well, I got to see quite a few parts of the world this year, I’m even about to tour Bangkok, Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong in November. It’s very inspiring being able to get to know different cultures and different people from all over the world. Nonetheless I’m a very homebound person, and home ultimately is the most inspiring place to me. It’s where I can let all the impressions that I gathered while traveling settle down and eventually turn into songs. Home is where my family and friends are, where most of the stories that you hear in my songs happened and were written down. Specifically, Home to me are two cities: My hometown Thun and my Grandmas place (she lives in Italy).
Who is the most inspiring person to you and why?
I can’t really settle on one specific person here. There are a few people in my life that inspire me, all in very different ways. They are the people most close to me, family and friends.
How would you like to inspire people?
By just being myself and doing what I love doing the most.
