Girl Wilde has just dropped her new track ‘Nervous Breakdown’, which is filled with grunge-pop that makes you want to sing-along. We had a chat with her about the storytellers that inspire her and how New York has a certain magic feel to it.

Who are you top three musical inspirations and why?
Alanis Morissette, Hayley Williams, and Julia Michaels because of their storytelling.

Is there a certain film that inspires you and why?
Midnight In Paris. The entire film touches on nostalgia. One character finds his freedom by taking a journey through the past. It shows him what's missing from his present life. Another character refers to nostalgia as "denial of the painful present". I can really resonate with the importance and the danger that nostalgia brings to the human experience.

What city do you find the most inspiring and why?
Los Angeles. There is nothing like living in this city. I find New York has a certain magic too, so it's a close second.. but overall LA is littered with too many memories that inspire me everyday.

Who is the most inspiring person to you and why?
My Dad just beat a hard battle with cancer. He inspires me to keep fighting and to make the most of every day.

How would you like to inspire people?
I hope to inspire confidence in people. Confidence to own up to all of the mess and to find strength in being honest.
