MOLI talks to us about how Julia Michaels' songs communicate to her and rocking in the shower to the Backstreet Boys.

What was the first song you listened to?

The first song that I vividly remember listening to is “Rosanna” by toto. My dad would always play this in the car on long journeys and I still love it to this day. It brings back so many good memories.

Which song/album is your guilty pleasure?

I want it that way” and “As long as you love me” by the Backstreet Boys.

Love rocking to these in the shower with a hairbrush as a microphone.

What song/album do you wish you wrote?

Hands to myself” by Selena Gomez writer by Julia Michaels because it’s so clever toppling & production wise;

I’m a massive fan of Julia Michaels and her songwriting. It’s crazy how good she is and how special her melodies are. She makes pop music really cool and I wish I can write a song like this one day. A song that an A&R wouldn’t see becoming a hit as it’s not the “classic pop hit” but that still makes it’s way to the top.

What song gets your dancing?

90s and 2000s hits for sure. “It wasn’t me” by Shaggy is one of my all time favourites.

Any of those that I know the words too will get me off my chair.

Which song/album do you think describes you the most as a person?

Nervous system” by Julia Michaels. I can really relate to her songs and the way she spills her heart out.

I am a pretty sensitive person and I feel like her songs communicate that she is too.

What is your favourite album this year?

Geography” by Tom misch. Amazing melodies, guitar playing, production, lyrics.

Favourite track from the album is “movie”. Really breaks my heart every time I hear it.
