Introducing #0096 - The Frampton Sisters

Let us introduce you to indie folk duo The Frampton Sisters, who have graced our ears with their beautifully delicate debut single ‘Birds Of A Feather’.

Well obviously you are sisters, so who was born first?
Freddie is the oldest, Charlie 2 years younger.

Have you always had similar musical tastes growing up?
Yes, we grew up listening to music that our parents listened to - so naturally we were both influenced by them. Also, living on the Orkney Islands every child learnt to play the fiddle, so music was around us always.

You were originally home schooled, but then you relocated to East Sussex, do you feel that move helped with your songwriting?
Growing up on the Orkney Islands and being homeschooled encouraged us to focus on music and songwriting and that then continued when we moved down south, and learnt other instruments.

What is your creative process like together?
It works perfectly - Freddie writes the songs whilst Charlie dances around the room.

Your new track ‘Birds of A Feather’ is out now, what is the track about? Where was it recorded?
We recorded the song at Abbey Road studios, which we really enjoyed. The track is simply about everybody and everything - and how when it comes down to it, we are all the same. And we should accept everyone for what and who they are.

Now the track is out there, what next? What are your plans for the next few months?
We hope to continue writing songs and release some new tracks. Just get out there more! We love performing so we’d love to do more of that.
