Inspired #0025 - JGrrey — When The Horn Blows

2019 is set to be massive year for rising RnB star JGrrey, starting with the release of her EP `Grrey Daze’ which is out now. JGrrey had a chat with us about Andre 3000, her love for horror films and all the things that inspire her.

Who are you top three musical inspirations and why?
Andre 3000, Amy Winehouse and Erykah Badu, their organic approach to creativity, their complete honesty within music and their individual styles.

Is there a certain film that inspires you and why?
I’m a film fanatic, like it’s obsessive.. all the films inspire me, I’m mainly into horror films so I’m not inspired by them massively but they inspire my approach to visuals (American psycho is a favourite).

What city do you find the most inspiring and why?
NYC, annoyingly I feel like a child again when I’m in NY, like I’m in all the films and like anything is possible, I’m a proud pessimist so being in ny annoys me because I’m always so optimistic haha.

Who is the most inspiring person to you and why?
My mother - I don’t know how she did it, bringing me and my brother up whilst we was all being ungrateful pricks.

How would you like to inspire people?
I’m unsure - if someone could be inspired to be happy in their own skin through me some how that would be cool.. or be inspired to pursue their dreams or some shit.
