Brighton based band Tundra Love recorded a special live version of their track ‘Mind’s Eye’, and we are delighted to share with you an exclusive video of the session, that was filmed at Brighton Electric. The band had a chat with us about the recording and their plans for the future.

The track featured in this live session is called ‘Mind’s Eye’, can you tell us what the track is about?
It’s generally about being mindful in a situation and stepping away from your own perspective to understand the perspective of those around you. In a nutshell, empathy, I suppose.

Where was the session recorded? What made you want to do the video there? Are you willing to share any behind the scenes stories?
We recorded the session at Brighton Electric Studios with engineer Alex Gordon and videographer Stewart Gardiner. Electric’s a real staple in the Brighton scene. I guess we wanted to record the session there because of the rooms - we knew we could make the atmosphere really special. In regards to stories, our guitarist Nick reckons he saw The Cure at Electric a little while back. Mad.

The band are based in Brighton, apart from where the live session was recorded, where else do you like to hang out? Favorite venue and record store?
Well we record and play a fair bit in London too. So far we’ve recorded all our stuff with Nathan at Hermitage Works Studios including the new material that we’re bringing out in the new year. Back to Brighton though, favourite venue both to play and attend has to be The Hope & Ruin - great space, sound and lighting. Supporting The Psychotic Monks there with our mates GURU was hands down our favourite show so far. Resident music takes the cake for record store purely because it’s amazing to see mates of ours like Strange Cages and solo project have their albums on Resident’s shelves.

Now the live session is out there, what are your plans for the next few months? Any live shows we should know about?
Next up we’re playing 234 festival on 28th September at The Green Door Store, another staple in the Brighton scene. 234 is the annual 2 day, free entry festival that GDS run. It’s gonna be a lot of fun. We have more exciting gigs to announce for the coming months, including 1 or 2 that we can’t go into yet. Other than that we have another video to come, which is similar to this session in fact, and we have real big plans for the new year.
