BAD CHILD wowed a sold-out crowd at his first ever Vancouver show, proving that he is someone everyone should be watching out for.

The new Canadian artist burst onto the music scene earlier this year with his self-titled single “BAD CHILD” which was an immediate hit both online and on the airwaves. The world wasn’t made to wait long for more, as his debut EP “Sign Up” was recently released for us to play on repeat for hours on end. His sound is widely labeled as alternative, but skips in and around the genres of rock, hip-hip, electronic, and even garage with his heavy industrial effects layered throughout the tracks. The production quality of all the music that BAD CHILD has released so far has been on par with some of the biggest names in music right now. What really stands out are his vocals which are strong and hit all the right spots.

When it comes to artists with high studio production quality, especially newer artists, live shows can be fairly hit or miss. However, BAD CHILD definitely proved that everything he does in the studio can be successfully translated into an energetic live performance. BAD CHILD’s setlist was essentially a run through of his entire discography up until this point, including the three automated spotify-eqsue voice ads that top, tail, and interlude the EP. This gave everyone in the packed room ample time to be converted into a BAD CHILD fan as they watched and listened to the range that this 21-year-old has. After seeing him live it’s easy to see why he was featured on so many big festival lineups this summer, including the likes of Osheaga, Lollapalooza, and Glastonbury. There’s no doubt that BAD CHILD is going to continue on this upward trajectory and we can’t wait to hear what he releases next and for his next run of shows!
