London based artist prstn talks us through his current track ‘Absinthe’, which was produced by Tylr Rydr - who has worked with the likes of Girli and Ashnikko.

Hey there prstn, how are you? How does it feel to be releasing music during this strange time for music?
I’m good.. Yeah weird af. Not gonna lie, I wish things were different. But we’re all in the same boat. Onwards and upwards.

Your track ‘Absinthe’ is out now, can you tell us what the track is about? Where was it recorded?
Absinthe is a about 1 out of 3 messy nights out that took place one weekend recently. The night I met my ex. Crazy night. I’m single again now.

It sees you working with producer Tylr Rydr, who has worked with the likes of Ashnikko and Girli. How was that experience? How did that partnership come together?
Tylr is on the same mgmt. as me. We’ve always made good music together. I have a lot of songs which I’ve done with him. He’s crazy talented. So sick.

The song is broken up into three stages, was this intention to tell the story of the track?
I ended up writing the song over a few months. I was actually still flagging hard in the initial session. I think Tylr had been on a made one too that weekend and we were both stuck in the smallest studio working on the track. We got verse 1 and the hook down. I wrote the rest of the track a few months later. It was an easy one to dip in and out of though.

Now the song is out there, what next for you?
Good question. Maybe my next job is in cyber. I just don’t know it yet?
