Inspired #167: Lise Viktoria
Norwegian singer-songwriter Lise Viktoria recently shared her moody electro pop single, ‘October’. Amongst other things, we spoke to her about the importance of strong women, her favourite city in the world and the ideas behind her aching autumnal single.
Who are your top three musical inspirations?
I love Beyonce, Joni Mitchell and Queen! Amaziny lyrics, and melodies
Is there a certain film that inspires you?
All films that have a story, especially ones based on a true story that really hits me, is what I find inspiring.
What city do you find the most inspiring?
I lived in London for 3 years and it will forever be my city of inspiration. I love the people, architecture, atmosphere, diversity and so much more!
Who is the most inspiring person to you?
I can’t just mention one, there are so many. I am especially inspired by strong women that fights to make the world better for the next generation of girls and women, and there are so many women throughout the years, and today to be inspired by.
What were your inspirations when writing the track?
My inspiration behind the track was partly me going through a heartbreak and partly how the mood changes when the weather gets more raw, cold, windy and dark when summer has ended. It impacts our emotion if we are going through something, and like the weather - our emotions become more raw, cold and dark as well.
How would you like to inspire people?
I want to inspire people with different moods, and allow them to feel and reflect on the fact that life is complex and includes all the different emotions and moods at different stages and days of your life. I also live by the fact that you can be whoever you want to be, and do what you want, as long as you actions come from a place of love.
