A Day In The Life Of #11 - Luna Pines

Having already made a huge impression on the likes of BBC Introducing, Clash Magazine and SoFar Sounds these last few months, Leeds-based trio Luna Pines recently continued their run of form with their brilliant new single ‘You’ll Miss It All’. Bringing back more of that synthwave-inspired aesthetic, the band’s latest offering is a mixture of progressive pop-rock and 80s power ballads.

So with the group now back on our radar, we were interested to find out more about their everyday habits as we ask Luna Pines what an average day for them looks like.

My Alarm goes off...

My alarm noise is actually ‘Nothing Compares To You’ by Sinead O’ Connor because it builds perfectly to wake up to haha. But I do usually snooze it about 10 times.

My typical day involves…

I work at Cooking Vinyl Records, so it’s always a bit of a different day working in the marketing department there! It’s really ace and I love everyone I work with so it’s great. Then usually I head home and start writing new tunes/mixing current tunes or sending emails and trying to get us heard! So I’m always surrounded by music, which is perfect.

The best part of my day…

During the week probably getting home and writing music or seeing friends to be honest...on weekends we tend to meet up and rehearse/write or gig which is always super fun.

The worst part of my day is when…

The tube...

At the end of my day I will…

To be honest I’m pretty boring a lot of the time - I live with my Nan and we often watch the news at ten and then go to bed!

If I wasn't a musician I'd be a…

Probably a therapist - I’m a big believer in the power of therapy and have had times in my life where I’ve really needed it gone through intense periods where I’ve gone a lot. I had the best therapist for years and I think it would be an incredible feeling to be able to do for other people what she did for me.
