Introducing #127- Feng Suave
Let us introduce you to Dutch psych-duo Feng Suave, who have just released their single ‘I’m Warping Here’ - the third track to be taken from the EP ‘Warping Youth, which is due out the 26th June. The Amsterdam pair took a moment to talk to us about the track, and the seventies soul influences in their music.
So your new track ‘I’m Warping Here’ is out now, can you tell us what the track is about?
It's about 'coming of age' and looking back at your childhood from a strayed adolescent's perspective.
It is the third single from your EP ‘Warping Youth’, how is that coming along? When can we hear that?
Warping Youth has been done for a while. It'll be out 26th of June. So far the response to the new music has been really good so we're happy and everything is going swimmingly.
You are based in Amsterdam, what is your favourite thing about the city? Where are the best places to go for music?
Well there's a few places with live Jazz like Skek and Homeland but to be perfectly honest, we don't really go out much for music. We like hanging out in the street, blowing O's and playing music more than the nightlife.
There is a lot of 70s soul in your music, who would you say are your key musical influences?
Bill Withers sure is one of them, The Beatles have been recently too, Timber Timbre is a big one as well as The Band.
If you could describe your sound in one sentence, what would it be?
Feng Suave is what happens when you microwave you dad's favourite records and crush them in a blender with a pinch of cynicism and love and serve it hot in a midi keyboard salad with a CBD dressing.
