We Are Parkas – ‘Friday Night’

Remember going out on a Friday night?

Bristol’s We Are Parkas have released their first single of 2020 ‘Friday Night’. It’s pumping garage indie banger. ‘Friday Night’ comes in with a strong uppercut with the heavy riffing and crashing drums. However, the vocals are quite pop which draw you in instantly. The verse is followed by a great big catchy chorus. We Are Parkas like to keep you on the edge of your seat with some added intense weirdness, coming from a strange fuzzy high-pitched noise after the first chorus, similar to a Jack White guitar solo.

If you’re a fan of Kid Kapichi, you’ll like ‘Friday Night’. Not only is the breakdown/middle section is akin to the Hastings rockers, but We Are Parkas are able to blend the pop mentality of indie with rock n’ roll grit.
