Let us introduce you to Lissy Taylor, who has just released her single single ‘Wildflowers’ - an indie folk track that beautifully blooms. She took a moment to talk to us about her music.

So, your track ‘Wildflowers’ is out now - how does it feel?
It’s such a good feeling to start sharing my songs, I've been studying, writing and performing a lot over the past couple of years with my band.  so Im really happy to have released my music.

Can you tell us what the track is about?
It’s about forgetting what weighs you down and allowing yourself the freedom to grow. It’s a reminder to let go of the past, accept the present and to work towards a better future. Wildflowers is an acknowledgement that you can be anything you choose to be.

Do you have a favorite flower?
The song is called Wildflowers and its the correlation between flowers and people.
I  was on a train and saw flowers growing from platform walls and underneath the train tracks. I thought about how beauty can come from the unexpected and how life can surprise you. I then thought that people are a lot like those flowers I saw, growing from almost nothing into something bigger and brighter. What was more significant was that the flowers bloomed in a place where it would be hard for them to grow. In the same way, some people become far more than what is expected of them despite challenges they face. So in a world of the unexpected, the question becomes are you ready for the challenge?   (don't really have a favourite flower)

You are originally from Kentucky, but now live in Manchester - what made you take that jump and move to the UK?
I was born in England  (Midlands), when I was 14 years old, my father was given a foreign work assignment to Lexington, Kentucky so we moved January 2015.  I attendedHigh School there and graduating in 2017.  We returned to England in 2017 and I moved to Manchester to do a degree in music,

What genre of music would you say you are? And who are your key musical influences?
My music is indie /pop and influences are Florence and the Machine, Lana Del Rey & Cage the Elephant

Now the track is out there, what next?
Wildflowers and Mayday are part of my debut EP, so the next step is to release the EP this summer.
Im currently working on the second EP and writing more songs.
